The Best 90-minute Disaster Movie I Have Ever Read

This story is -fantastic-. I have a LOT of good to say about it, so I'll try and get this review at least somewhat organized as I go.

I'm going to start with the only real critique I have, which is that this could still use a bit of editing. I spotted a few typos, several unnecessary commas, and a few places where the writing could have been done a little tighter. You know, the usual stuff one runs into when not literally paying a professional editor to help comb through a story.

Otherwise, it's very clear the author has put time into editing their work and polishing this story. The narrative is beautiful and visually flows very well! I've -watched- many Disaster Movies but read very few books of the same genre, so I've never seen such grand, sweeping, visually impressive shots of sheer -destruction- be written so compellingly and clearly.

The pacing was nice and fast, with something new and interesting happening around every corner. It never felt too rushed and no moment felt unnecessarily or like padded filler. The author did an incredible job making every word count.

The characters are fun. I wouldn't say we delve deeply into any of them, and I would not consider this a character-driven story. What I DO say is that the author touched just far enough into some common character tropes that, with just a few words, I was able to infer everything I needed to know about characters, their personalities, their drives, and their motivations, while at the same time they were not pushed -too deep- into tropes to make them dislikable or too unbelievable. The main character may have been someone I'd never want to hang out with in real life, but I didn't have a problem with following her around and relating through her experiences, either. I never felt 'trapped' with any one of them.

The dialogue was funny, mostly flowed naturally, and I constantly wanted to share quips of it with my roommate. It felt perfect for this genre of story and really added to every scene.

Absolutely check this story out, it is *so good!* And a true Must Read for any fan of the Natural Disasters genre! This was an easy read to binge and if you've got a few hours to spare, absolutely spend them here! (Bonus points if you read it on a cold, stormy, windy winter day)

A Good Start!

Looking forward to see where this is going! I love the mystery that's already set up! A fresh, new story project that I can look forward to catching up on as it updates.

There's a little bit of editing needed, but overall it was easy to let the story play out as images in my head and just follow along. Can't wait to see more!

This Story Brings Me Joy

Okay, strap in, this story is amazing.

So, off the bat, there is a lot of room for editing both grammar and paragraphs. There's plenty of moments of confusion about who is talking with no paragraph break between speakers.

BUT

I have already spent two hours on this story. I am roughly 10 chapters in. I have shared this story with my roommate. She is reading it along with me.

This story is -amazing-. And I mean that. 100% I will be around to read more of this. The author seems like they're having a lot of fun writing it and, to me, that comes out as a super fun, super silly, super light-hearted story.

The drama is tops. I want to sit with a bowl of popcorn and root alongside some of the side characters. The idea of this giant flirty game of hard-to-get would not work for me in most cases, but I'm so in love with it here. This story is golden. Lots of room for improvement in editing and general practice for writing, but I love it. It's pure and exciting, and a lot of time and passion has been put into it.

Please just sit and enjoy this story for the sake of fun. Share blurbs with your bestie or your roommate. Get them to come and read it alongside you. I love this story so much and will definitely be back for more!!

A Fun, Magic-Filled Story

A very fun and engaging story so far! It pulls me in quickly into the fantasy. The setup of the world and the threat of the Shadow Realm rings familiar to other fantashy fictions I've grown up reading, like Terry Pratchett and C.S. Lewis. A nice, easy read to sit back and enjoy, full of dynamic characters who are each in their own way intriguing. Definitely looking forward to seeing how this pans out!
